Arubaversary!

I spent an anniversary in Aruba!  We visited in August 2007, just as Hurricane Alex was passing through.  Luckily, all we experienced was some rain from the outer bands, but it sure was interesting flying past a hurricane.  The view from the plane was incredible!  When we arrived at this "One Happy Little Island" we were greeted by very friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere.  We rented a car (which I really wish we'd taken a photo of, since it was quite a piece of work!) and drove around the island.  We had a map, but it was virtually useless since not only were many of the roads and streets weren't marked, they weren't even named!  As long as we stayed in the towns we didn't get too lost, but touring the National Park area was another story.  I'm not sure what we were driving on were roads.  They wouldn't have qualified here in the states!

The first photo below is a shot of Baby Beach....the rocky part.  There really was sand here, I promise.  Boca Prins was spectacular, though we heard it was dangerous to swim there.  We also visited California Lighthouse at sunset for some fantastic views.
